Scapula

Her stress vibrates
in her scapula
like a cluster of bees.

She can barely reach there
to rub it
like her mother used to do for her
when she was little and anxious.

That’s where your wings used to be.

The buzzing keeps her up at night,
a braid of swollen knots,
the phantom pain
of angels.
