You don’t need all the answers
or the best snacks
you don’t have to craft
or play with stuffies
or teach math in fun ways
you don’t have to meet
all their needs
all the time
you just have to be good enough
love them enough
listen enough
hug them enough
and there will be days
when you won’t know
what is enough
but on those days
just remember
that being a good parent
is not about giving them more
by stepping away
you let in
the light.
