It’s these little moments
I sew into the hem of my memory,
the drive to school
every day now for weeks,
you both in the back seat
replacing the lyrics to every song
with the word “tic tac”
and for some reason
it makes you laugh together
so hard you can barely breathe
and I can’t either,
though for me
it’s that I am sewing as fast as I can
before I exhale
these little moments
away.
