I keep thinking
surely we can binge watch this pandemic
and get to the end
to see how it all works out
but instead we must move through
the steady drip of minutes
freezing our shopping bags
calling our mothers
checking then not checking the news
and when the series does come out,
that gritty soundtrack,
all those dramatic scenes smashed together,
we will eventually remember it that way too,
cuddling up for the scary parts,
wondering how we did it.
