is to line up your stuffed animals
that you never paid attention to until now
though you seem to know
a lot about them
like how giraffe likes to sleep on his side
and how bear sleeps in a chair
or why owl and zebra
can’t touch
and then there’s bunny
who has to close the door
before anyone else can sleep
and cow
who doesn’t sleep
at all
which makes me think
you weren’t ignoring them before
and me
you must wonder
when I tidy up
why I dust around
