I read that the pangolin
who shared the coronavirus with us
is the most trafficked mammal in the world
and is sold in some places
to treat women
thought to be possessed
by ogres
which is ironic
since reading this
turned me into an ogre
though with a particular taste
only for people
ignorant enough
to have started a pandemic
for something
so devastatingly
inane.
