The absorbing quality of a teenage girl
isn’t the way her young skin
stretches over her woman’s body;
it’s her unwavering belief
in that moment
as she boards the bus with her headphones on
that the song playing
is the soundtrack
to the movie
of her life
and we are all simply
extras
