I’m done with contentment

I’m done with contentment
and its placid face

I want what spills out of your eyes
when your dad takes you
into the cold ocean waves

I want the shrieking
the bang of my heart

I want the crush of the moment
the galloping smile

I want to ripen
and burst

I want glee.

Glee is a delightful aim. I, too, will aim for glee. Let’s see how it goes.

Contentment relies on intensity. I know how you feel.

I’m with you. What’s the fun in being content when I could be happy?

Great poem :)
