Two pens lay on my desk
like a skinny couple in bed
cordless phone
always standing
like a royal guard
and I’m sure I’m not the only one
who thinks their monitor riser
looks like a hippopotamus mouth
I try to let the bookshelf
be a bookshelf
but how can I ignore the obvious
that stack of grins
all those colourful teeth.
