Hunting for gratitude
Spend your days hunting
for gratitude.
You will bow
to the big ones at first:
health
love
roof over your head.
Then one day
your world will splice
open into a thousand tiny experiences
that used to be knit together
into the density of life.
You taste them
holding each moment like a bird
in the cup of your palms
shocked
at how much joy
was out there
waiting.

Love the thousand tiny experiences of joy – which are pure alchemy.. turning into a thousand experiences of compassion and connection. Each bit a revolution.

when we open our heart
to ourselves first
the river of joy
comes rushing in
grateful for
all the little things
builds the amazement higher and higher
the little flower between the rocks
love at any age
a cool breeze on a blistering day
I could go on for hours
and with each one
the smile from soul
grows and grows
thank you for your beautiful poem
